Rice farming is crucial for global food security but faces challenges—climate change, resource inefficiency, and yield loss—especially in agrarian countries like Indonesia. Our narrative review of international studies finds that IoT solutions (remote sensing, smart irrigation, early disease detection) can boost irrigation efficiency by up to 96%, achieve 87–89% accuracy in disease monitoring, and optimize fertilization by 95.5%. Solar‐powered sensor networks cut operational costs, and integrating Machine Learning promises even greater precision. This review offers a roadmap for scaling IoT in rice agriculture to enhance productivity and resource use.
